What's the best proof of intellegent life elsewhere in the universe?

I think the best proof is that they haven%26#039;t tried to contact us. I%26#039;d stay away if I were them, too.
What%26#039;s the best proof of intellegent life elsewhere in the universe?
The best proof of intelligent life elswhere in the universe is the complete lack of it here.
What%26#039;s the best proof of intellegent life elsewhere in the universe?
Just the sheer size of it and the fundamental belief that humans CANNOT be the smartest orgamisms around - if we are, that is just so sad for the universe.
Reply:The pyramids and the stick drawings of Aliens in each of them. They are on different continents making it impossible for the people to have talked to each other to draw the same Alien figures; or come up with similar designs for the pyramids.
Reply:The BEST EVER PROOF of intelligent extraterrestial life, would be to actually meet an Alien.

I thought once I met an ALIEN but it was just my wife in some kind of treatment.

Cheers
Reply:Intelligent life elsewhere in the universe exists only in the realm of science fiction, and on earth only in the realm of fiction.
Reply:I think the best proof is that there is intelligent life here.

that in tandem with the fact the universe is so huge that it is highly unlikely that there exists no other intelligent life on any other planet anywhere.

the conditions of the earth aren%26#039;t quite that rare, and furthermore there is a quite reasonable degree of likelihood that life could evolve in a very vast number of types of eco-systems. for example it may be that life would not require water but instead the planet has oceans of hydrogen or something and the intelligent life there would drink hydrogen, it would rain hydrogen, snow hydrogen.

so i guess the odds are just really hugely in favor of there being other intelligent life somewhere.
Reply:I agree, they wouldn%26#039;t want to land in the middle of hicksville.
Reply:Hehehe. I probably would (stay away from us) too.

But any technologically advanced civilization still has to operate on the same laws of physics as we do. And that means that they%26#039;ll be generating a fair amount of coherent electromagnetic radiation (radio, TV, microwaves, etc.) across the EM spectrum. Just finding a source in the sky with a large amount of coherent EM radiation coming from it (as opposed to non-coherent %26#039;noise%26#039;) would be a real thrill. But we%26#039;ve only been seriously looking (the SETI program) for about 20 years now, and there%26#039;s a helluva lot of sky -and- background noise to be searched thru.

OTOH...... -We- have been a source of fairly high-power EM radiation for nearly 100 years. And that sphere with a 100 LY radius holds a few hundred Suns that -may- have worlds containing intelligent life. And they may be looking just like we are. But if they were (for a number) 75 LY away, it would -still- be another 50 years before we heard any kind of answer from them.

Space is deep......... And it may be a while before we find anything.

Billions of BIllions of opportunities for life to form in the vast expanse of space and time. Not possible for it only to happen once, assuming humans are even considered intelligent (or living for that matter) compared to the other life forms.
