Reply:it is the community to which you belong. no friends and family and you are lonely. belong to a group or just exist as a lone wolf. your group gives life meaning. that concept explains the very important function of all re legions. the mythology is just a way of bonding and communicating. you need to belong somewhere. mohammed, jesus etc. is not the point. the bonds, trust, values, folkways and mores etc. have a synergistic effect to make life richer and uplifting. that is the wonderful function of every religion. the success and longevity of a religion depends on the wisdom and benevolence of its leaders. they rise and fall on that function of the the leaders. wise leaders are successful in enriching their group without going to war with other groups.
